      Edmund Sept 28, 1836
      Isabel Oct 2, 1833
      Frank Sept 26, 1851
      Amanda July 14, 1853

      Libba Sept 13, 1856
      Silas Sept 13, 1856
      Joe July 13, 1858
It is apparent from the record that Edmund and Isable were man and
wife, the others children, including twins, Silas and Libba!
The 1880 Census shows Elisha Culpepper with $1600 of real estate and
$7980 of personal estate. Children listed a decade before were in the
household, with others born after 1850. Nathan Gardner 9; Sarah Eliza
7; Elisha p. aged two years. Francis Bartow Culpepper, the last child
      was born in 1861.
After passing of the Henry Harris family and settlement of the
estate, Elisha Culpepper gave his homeplace to this son Thomas J.
Culpepper, and moved to the old Harris House at the corner. He had not
been living there many years before the cyclone of March 20, 1875.
Devastating winds came from the west across Harris County and Talbot
County. Destruction was severe long the Wire Road (hwy 315). Churches
and many homes were destroyed. Several people were killed.
A report on the "terrible cyclone" appeared in the Talbotton Standard
fro Wednesday March 24, 1875. The editor traveled the storm strewn
path, listing houses and places, and wrote:
The next is where Mr. Elisha culpepper; one of our oldest and best
citzens, lived. His house was blown down, he was killed on the spot,
and his daughter-in-law and wife were badly wounded. All of the of the
place is a wreck. The storm seems to have been more terrific here than
at any place this side of Mount Airy.
Elisha Culpepper was noted for his "strict integrity" of character.
He was a strict member of the Baptist Chuch. At the time of his death,
the Culpepper farm consisted of 283 acres of land appraised on
      Aug[BO:ust 29, 1876 at $1132.[UL: Excerpted from "A Rockaway in
